Having grown up on jazz, motown and gospel, vocalists Tonya Kelly, Joi Marshall and Di Reed-known collectively as Jade-could make just about anything sound good. It also helped that the R&B trio's 1992 debut, 'Jade to the Max', had top-notch production and material to work with as well. Hitmaker/mentor Vassal Benford penned nearly half of the eleven songs here with co-producer Ron Spearman. The full length boasts four singles hitting the Top 100 'I Wanna Love You' (# 16), 'Don't Walk Away' (#4), 'One Woman' (#22), and 'Looking for Mr. Do Right' (#69) and went on to being certified Platinum. For RSD 2026 'Jade to the Max' sees its first ever vinyl pressing in the US- appropriately in a jade coloured vinyl run.
